The park is amazing. Last summer it was nothing more than an empty parking lot with a gravel soccer field. When I came back after Christmas, there was an amazing change. They completely rebuilt everything. They added in three basketball courts (one that can be used for volley ball), an indoor-outdoor soccer field, a small skate park, and a playground. It is wonderful. On a typical night there are anywhere from 40-80 people there.

If you are anything like me, you will see the ministry potential. So, Mary and I have been going to the park about three nights every week. We have built some great relationships with some of the kids and families there. We just kind of show up, and see what God does. In the past three weeks we have become close friends with two kids named Antonio and Paloma. They invited us into their house to meet the parents. We spent about an hour talking with them. This opened the door for me to share some of the gospel with their dad! It was wonderful. A few nights later, Mary started playing volley ball with a girl. I was just standing off to the side watching. There was a man standing a couple of feet away from me. It turned out that he was her father. So, we began talking. And with a genuine curiosity, he asked me questions about the Bible. We were discussing the Romans concept of New man Vs. the Old man. I will never forget the way that he asked if it was possible to overcome the sin that is in our lives. Only by the grace of God was I able to explain that there was hope. I mean, come on, I have trouble explaining Romans in English. It was a miracle that I explained it in Spanish.

That is just a little part of the amazing ministry that God has given us at the park!

God bless,
Eric-
